New Feeney job included in budget?

Mayor Kopczick presented a budget to the aldermen that includes a brand new $40,000 salary expense line-item for the Finance Department.

This new item is ambiguously labeled as "Salary - Administrative Staff." Curiously, all of the other salary expense line items - except this one - identify specific job titles.

Could this be the new job rumored to have been promised to Brian Feeney?

If the aldermen approve this budget as presented by the mayor, they will be giving him unfettered discretion to create the new job, and to fill it with anyone he pleases.

Quit your beefing, in Coal City there is one line item in each section, Staff $265,000, police $430,000, maintenance $670,000. Imagine the fun you could have with that check book. Maybe it will be to hire the CC administrator so Kup can learn how to handle money better so Sledge gets confused.

Cut out the pork.

If the mayor does this, it will be the end of his political career.

Maybe Belt can give up $40k from his $250,000-plus annual fees to help pay for Feeney.

Sledge, the job for Brian Fenney was not a rumor. The mayor shopped the job of purchancing agent around to all the alderman last year. I understand the alderman started talking amongst themselves about how qualified was Brian for the job. He was a auto mechanic, not that there is anything wrong with an auto mechanic the alderman thought with great conviction that maybe if a purchasing agent was needed for the city that Brian was not qualified.

If Brian recieves a job from Dick he will be dancing all the way to the bank because he has been an alderman for 16 years averaging $2500.00 a year. A $40,000.00 a year job for the next four years would lock up a pension in the IMRF worth alot of bananas. Your pension is based on last four years. I wish Dickie was my friend

Hey those guys are tricky.

Does Dick, Brian and Scott think that the alderman are stupid?

Paulson needs to be held just as responsible if this is true.

Sledge, have you noticed any kind of pattern how things operate with this administration?

The hospital and the city is going to have a real PR mess and legal battle when the hospitals bus goes around another School bus with its lights and stop sign flashing and hits a child. Saw it today and told the bus driver that I was a witness. The school bus driver said the hospital bus is well know by all school bus drivers for passing when they are unloading children and goes around many times every week. The schools bus drivers document it but the police will not respond and take a complaint from the driver. I hope it never happens but if it does the Schools have done CYA and the city police and hospital will be settling another lawsuit out of court.

Maybe if the school bus didn't have to stop at EVERY house...
